Living in Valley RV Park

We ended up liking our stay in MS1 so well, we stayed for 3 weeks!  But because it's a popular destination and because certain RV parks fill up so far in advance, we had to keep finding new places to live while there!  Our first spot was the Valley RV Park, which we loved - not because the park was so perfect or pretty but because it made for a nice neighborhood.  The spaciousness of the sites and the friendliness of the RVers (many of whom were repeat offenders and stayed all season) and mobile home dwellers was a wonderful change from coexisting with other transients.  Here, we immediately felt part of a happy, friendly community.  And that, from our experience, is a relatively rare commodity.  Don't get me wrong - campgrounds seem to be inherently friendly places, but this place has a different feel to it - like you're part of a whole, not just one in a whole bunch of parts.

And look at the space!  We had a mobile home unit on one side but our RV neighbor on the other side was pretty far away!  And behind us was more open space and then a horse corral (and those guys always make good neighbors!).

And the fifthwheel and vehicles to the right are those of our new friends, Rich and Juanita.  They were a huge part of making our stay there so great!  They live in Kansas, and we got to stop in and say Hi to them there later in our travels.  We're really hoping to see them again this summer.

What a backdrop, eh?  Mountains and clouds.  I was in my element, for sure.

Mt. P, in the C. Peaks (yes, I'm dropping a few hints here, so it's for me to know and you to find out - if you're so inclined).  Unbeknownst to me at the time, I was soon to get much better acquainted with this peak...

And behind the RV park was a completely different look - hills of boulders.  Pretty in their own right and a fun playground.  It's much of what makes this place so special - there's a lot of variety in terrain and outdoor options.

Back to the corral...  Time for the kitties to meet some more horses...

Very gentle, this guy was a perfect practice partner.

Tractor doesn't seem too stressed (maybe that's because he wasn't!).

Scratty also says Hi Horsey! (she didn't get to do the high altitude reconnaissance since Mom was busy with the camera - story of her life...).

Speaking of high altitude antics...Tractor show the horse a thing or two (if the horse was still paying attention, which he wasn't).

The family, hanging out.

Not satisfied with merely lounging, Tracky decides to become the intrepid explorer - of the RV's basement  compartments.

And then on to meeting some more neighbors.

And a Carrie favorite - storm in the Rockies!!

 So beautiful!  So dramatic.

 The ponds afterwards...

are nothing compared to the next door RV park's!

But it all dries/evaporates/absorbs in time for an afternoon ride!  Perfect!  What more could you want from a day?!
