We went for a day drive through this Cherokee capital, formed in 1838 for the displaced Indians (resulting from the Trail of Tears). We weren't in the mood for museum-hopping though - just looky-looing.
We came across this gorgeous campus - Northeastern State University. Mostly, it reminded us of Hogwarts - not a bad thing!
Don't ask. I'm just attracted by bright colors, I guess!
And remember that Cherokee bloke, Sequoyah? Well, he virtually singlehandedly came up with the written Cherokee language (the syllabary)! Here is an example of it.
