OK's capitol

OK has a pretty capitol building.  Here it is at sunset.

 And at night.

 And during school hours...   ;)

This 1917 building didn't always have a dome.  It was called "Old Baldy" while it only had a temporary saucer dome to close up the top.  The new dome was added in 2002.

Inside...

A quilt of their state wildflower - Indian blanket (or should it be Indian quilt?!)..

 Their state flag.

One of the many pieces of artwork inside the capitol.  I understand OK receives a lot of weather like this painting - I'm glad we never encountered any of it!

And Bill's favorite aspect of the capitol - an oil well!  Nice to know there's at least one state that knows how to afford its expenditures (like a big capitol building)!
